Decorating Your Child's Room
Decorating your child's room can be a lot of fun! It can be easy to fall into the design hole and forget about the practicalities. Here are some tips to keeping your kids room practical and organized.
1. Display their artwork
Keep things organized with a dedicated area to show off your child's latest pieces. This could be magnet board, corkboard, or simply hang some strings with clothes pegs.
2. Multiple lighting options
A standing lamp for ambient light, a bedside lamp for reading, and a nightlight to guide them to the bathroom. Illuminate Strips are a great option to serve as nightlights - they're motion sensor so they are only on when you're child is awake.
3. Accessible storage
Kids will be more likely to help with clean-up after playtime if they can easily reach where their toys belong. Help them out with storage bins and drawers that are at their level.
4. Keep larger items neutral
Kids grow out of things fast. So keep your more expensive items like dressers, beds, and nightstands neutral. Less expensive items like wall hangings, comforters, and rugs can be colourful or themed. It'll save you time and money in the long-run!
